EMAIL - Internet based EDI for low Transaction Volume

Email communication has become a basic application in business life for many years now.
Email serves communication as well as the storing of information and the documentation of business workflow.

Particularly for B2B of small- and medium-sized business, e-mail is an important medium for external data exchange, i.e. e-procurement, e-sales, customer service or online-marketing. Email requests, newsletter mailings and electronical proposals have become standard processes. Referring to a survey about e-mail communication set up by the "Institut für e-Management e.V. Köln" in 2005, 73% of the interviewed companies regularly or frequently take advantage of sending e-mail to communicate well directed with serveral addressee at the same time.


i-effect^® *EMAIL is a native iSeries application for sending and receiving emails on IBM System i ( iSeries, AS/400 ). i-effect^® sends and receives all iSeries objects such as spooled files, ZIP archives, IFS and DB/2 files as well as the dispatch of MIME attachments to a user-defined number of (copy) recipients. In combination with spool converter
i-effect^® *SPOOL, you can convert spool files into PDF and all established PC- and graphic formats. Afterwards, you may send them per email to external business partners or internal to single departments via any SMTP mailserver.

Programm objects of System i ( iSeries, AS400 ) can be sent to external IBM System i as attached save files. They are easily recovered on the recipient's system.

Security and archiving

In combination with i-effect^® modules *ZIP and *CRYPT, you can compress and encrypt your data according to AES-standard and store them space-savingly after being transferred by e-mail. Corresponding to the obligation of storaging certain business correspondence, you can see and recall every incoming or outgoing e-mail in the directory. "After all, the worth of stored information in large companies is estimated to several hundred thousand Euro", referring to a study of the market research institute Dynamic Markets which was set up by order of Symantec in 2005.

Automation for enhanced e-mail organization

All i-effect^® functions can be processed menu-controlled or completely automatically controlled with the module *SERVER. All processes can be integrated in your existing workflow. You may run your e-mail processes event-driven or according to a schedule. Regular and time-critical dispatching tasks are guaranteed, even if a sudden or longer shortage of staff occurs.
