HTTP – The Standard Protocol for Web Communication

The module i-effect^® *HTTP exchanges business data over HTTP protocol server-based on IBM System i. SSL encryption provides for secure transmission of HTTP content (HTTPS). i-effect^® meets the requirements for server authentification and client authentification. Sending and receiving are supported by HTTP POST.

Encounter the heterogeneity of modern communication: Beside of the HTTP standard protocol i-effect^® transfers over internet protocols e.g. EDIINT AS2, FTP and SMTP (E-Mail, E-Fax). Moreover, the X.400 (Telebox) and OFTP transport protocols are covered.
The hypertext transfer protocol, shortly HTTP, was the first method, that was been used for transmission between web server and browser in TCP/IP networks and in the internet. HTTP is a low-cost and wide spread method for point-to-point data exchange. It is also assigned to EDI communication. The trading partners exchange user id and passwords to log in on the partner’s HTTP server. i-effect^® *HTTP is the iSeries native HTTP connector for data exchange between IBM System i (iSeries, AS/400) and other computer systems.
