ZIP - Compress, Archiving, Saving

i-effect^® *ZIP is a native iSeries compression software on IBM System i5 ( iSeries, AS/400 ), which can compress data down to 10% of its original size, saving up to 90% disk space. i-effect^® *ZIP supports file sizes up to 4 GB and is therefore most eligible for hard disk backups. i-effect^® *ZIP comes along with all the specialities of iSeries: It compresses and decompresses spool files, save files and physical files. i-effect^® covers all CCSID and can translate between ASCII and EBCDIC.

The compression technology of i-effect^® *ZIP is compatible to WINZIP™ and GZIP V1.2.4, which are available on different platforms (WINDOWS, DOS, UNIX, VMS, etc.). That way, the ZIP files can be distributed cross-platform. Including functions for creating, adding, deleting, extracting and displaying zip archives, i-effect^® *DBEXPORT is 100% compatible to other archive software and is therefore the ideal support for exchanging data with other systems and platforms.
