Our native i5/OS standard solutions has worldwide recognition. Our products are sold by distributors in Europe, Japan and the United States. The origins of our core product, known in its mature form as i-effect^®, are tightly bound to the professional carrier of company founder and managing director Ralph Menten. In 1989, Mr. Menten, a skilled data processing businessman with a strong affinity for IBM products, started as sole trader in Cologne, Germany. Increasing business resulted in the foundation of menten GmbH in 1998. In 2002, the growing company, menten GmbH, moved to its present head quarters in Bergisch Gladbach near Cologne.

1989	—	Formation of Ralph Menten EDV-Beratung (Consultancy) in Cologne
1992	—	Relocation from Cologne to Marienheide
1994	—	Announcement of the first standard software for IBM AS400 systems: “ascon”-AS400 system connector
1996	—	Expansion of the software lineup with “edicon” - EDI converter
1997	—	Expansion with the standard software “gzip400” - Winzip for AS400
1998	—	Change in the organizational structure – conversion to menten EDV-Beratung (Consultancy) GmbH
2002	—	Relocation to Bergisch Gladbach (Reuterstraße)
2004	—	Combination of ascon, edicon and gzip400 to i-effect®
