The so-called "qualified electronic signature" is a form of digital signature which is defined in the German Electronic Signature Act (SigG). It is an advanced electronic signature which is based on a qualified certificate valid at the time of signature and which is created by a secure-signature-creation device. To counteract overflowing administrative tasks, the application of qualified electronic signature in electronical invoicing is at present increasingly established as most important measure. Considering a high volume of monthly invoices, companies regard the issuing of invoices as the most permanent potential for optimization. Using mass signature, costs for manual handling and postale charges can be reduced up to 90% per invoice depending on the invoice quantity.
i5 520 server eases the decision of cost-conscious policy makers to switch to a cross-platform hardware technology or to buy an additional Signature-Box.
By providing module *SIGG, the data integration solution i-effect enables users of IBM System i ( AS/400, iSeries, i5 ) to apply qualified electronic signature to PDF documents and other files.
i-effect *SIGG includes an i5/OS native client which starts the signature requests as well as a java server which responds to these signature requests. The java server keeps its promise of state-of-the-art usability. The native signature client brings about a perfect integration of the signature operation into your workflow. To guarantee the highest degree of security, i-effect *SIGG signs in a closed system environment. Thereby, *SIGG is being run on a IXS PCI card within the System i ( AS400, iSeries, i5 ). This middleware builds the bridge between i-effect and the card readers with plugged in chip card of SmartTrust (More features).
