The menten GmbH has released i-effect® Version 1.7. The release includes integration of service orientated architecture into i-effect®, compatibility with IBM i 7.1 and a host of improvements and new functions.
SOA
SOA’s transparency and simplicity support and compliment existing IT environments and lead to a higher level of preparedness. Existing business processes and applications are analyzed, their functions inventoried and connected to new processes. This makes it easier to respond quickly to market changes and customer demands.
Interfaces can be set up quickly and flexibly and several applications can be connected with one another. The advantage is the merging of existing processes and applications to an integerated solution.
Simple examples are: when a bank’s routing number is entered, the name of the institution, its zip code, and the city will automatically be found over the web server. If the routing number is not correct, an error will occur.
Further SOA services can be automated e.g. verification of credit card data and email addresses or order and delivery status requests.
Compatibility with IBM i 7.1
All components of i-effect® 1.7 are compatible with IBM i (7.1). It is possible to upgrade to the new operating system without changes within i-effect®.Customers wanting to upgrade to the new IBM i 7.1 operating system can find more information regarding system requirements at the product website www.i-effect.de.
Other Features of the release:
i-effect®’s popular *SERVER module has undergone broad revisions and expanded event recognition in the logbook. As well as expanded message recognition for *REGEX, *SQL and MGSID. A multitude of customer requests, improvements and expansions were added to almost all i-effect® modules, e.g. *BASE, *AS2, *FTP, *EMAIL, *CRYPT, *DB2,*EDIFACT and others.
